About Us

Tara McCabe
Key West Paddle Board Yoga was created in September of 2007. SUP had been on the rise in Key West and Tara was introduced to the sport by friend, Sue Cooper, owner of Lazy Dog. The first paddle yoga class consisted of friends..yogis and non yogis..and KW Paddle Yoga was born.
In 1990, Tara began her exploration of the ocean with a trans-atlantic journey aboard the schooner Westward. She was home..the sea, the stars and the breeze soothed her soul. Tara continued working on the water…from the Caribbean, to Newfoundland, from Alaska, to Key West . The yoga journey began in 2001 when she was pregnant with her first child and her practice and teaching continue to evolve. Tara presently teaches on dry land at Shakti Yoga, and SUP Yoga has allowed her to combine both of her passions.
Tara is a 200 hour trained Yoga Shiromani of Sampoorna Yoga and has also completed a 200 hour training in the Yogic Arts system. This past spring, she completed an ACE Paddle Fit certification course,as well.

Trish Miller
Trish joined Key West Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga as an instructor during the summer of 2010. Practicing for over 5 years, Trish’s yogic path was sparked in Key West and only intensified during her graduate studies in New Zealand. While stimulating the mind by delving into the vast annals of cultural anthropology, Trish sought out a balancing element in her life. Hours of research in the library soon reverberated into daily practices, seeking the solice of a small studio in Ponsonby. Using yoga to explore the connections between mind, body and spirit became (and continues to be) a very neccessary journey for her.
Upon completion of her 200HR Yoga-Alliance Certification, she joined Tara in contributing to her favorite way of sharing the experience of yoga: via stand-up paddleboard (SUP). Since then, it has been a roller-coaster of involvement and a supportive embrace from the community. In fact, Trish and Tara just completed Brode Welte’s PaddleFit Certification Course in order to explore an expand this sport in a safe and knowledgable way. The Polynesian tradition of SUP and the Vedic-rooted practice of yoga form a relationship befitting any practitioner seeking a physical, mental and emotional connection.
Trish’s most recent ventures include a 3 month stay in Nicaragua. Leading classes at the Buena Vista Surf Club in San Juan del Sur and at Inan Itah on the island of Ometepe, Trish was able to experience and embrace the very same elements she enjoys while teaching on the calm waters of KW: mother nature.
